About

Molly Garner, formerly an Indianapolis-based actress, has recently moved to Ann Arbor, MI with her family. Husband Andre Garner is now a faculty member within the University of Michigan’s prestigious musical theatre program. The Garner husband and wife team are slated to direct and choreograph the musical Titanic at the Power Center in spring of 2025.

Molly was last seen onstage in You Can’t Take It With You at the Indianapolis Repertory Theatre and onscreen as a dancing homeowner in this summer’s Citizen’s Energy ad. Other recent commercials include Hancock Health, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and American Modern Insurance Group. Her short film, Rosie’s Rescue, is available for streaming on Amazon Prime.

Molly attended Carnegie Mellon University’s prestigious musical theatre program and moved to New York in the early 2000s. Her theatre career included three national tours (Mary Poppins, Billy Elliot, and the 101 Dalmatians musical, with industry giants Jerry Zaks and Warren Carlyle). She also performed at regional theatres across the country, including Barrington Stage, Indianapolis Repertory Theatre, The MUNY, Musical Theatre West, North Shore Musical Theatre and the Gateway Playhouse, among others. She is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association. She is represented by Heyman Talent regionally and by Talent Fusion in Indiana.

Possessing a dynamic stage presence, Garner’s vocal power, especially in her solo rendition of “At Long Last,” was only eclipsed by her affecting dramatic performance portraying a strong woman, who despite undergoing severe trauma, manages to not succumb to bitterness and victimhood, but remains hopeful instead. Garner, who was striking in her Indy debut as Annie Cannon in this summer’s Summit Performance show, “Silent Sky” is a formidable addition to the city’s pool of professional actors.” — Tom Alvarez, On the Aisle with Tom Alvarez
